Various ‎– Loop: Cut & Paste Groove Collection

Various Artists
Loop: Cut & Paste Groove Collection
1998 PopMafia

This is a pretty damn good compilation from a label that had only 5 releases. I remember grabbing it at a Hastings in New Mexico of all places after being thoroughly disappointed in their selection of electronic music back in 98. It’s has some exclusives from Bugs, Dropcycle & Honeypot along with some of my favourites like Meat Beat Manifesto, Halou & Perfume Tree. A electro/dubby/downtempo delight overall, cool artwork as well.

1. Coldcut - Atomic Moog 2000
2. The Grassy Knoll - The Innocent Criminal
3. Halou - I'll Carry You
4. Bugs - Only You
5. Bentley Rhythm Ace - Who Put The Bom In The Bom Bom Diddley Bom
6. Lecture On Nothing - Forward To Victory
7. Bran Van 3000 - Couch Surfer
8. Perfume Tree - Can't You
9. Honeypot - Happiness Hangover
10. Meat Beat Manifesto - Transmission (Stately Pleasure Dub)
11. Mindphaseone - No Need To Wave
12. Pistel - Skin Up
13. Dropcycle - Nightvision 2.1

David Bowie – Club Bowie (Rare And Unreleased 12" Mixes)

David Bowie
Club Bowie (Rare And Unreleased 12" Mixes)
2003 Virgin

Wanted to get something Bowie up in January to pay homage to his birthday but I’m slow these days. Bowie’s catalogue is fairly easily available so hopefully this is something not everyone has. I’m partial to the “Loving the Alien” mix by Scumfrog (so brilliant), but there are some fun & catchy mixes here. Converted the video from the enhanced disc and did my best to match the level to the rest of the tracks as a bonus. Still so sad that he is no longer with us…

1. The Scumfrog vs. David Bowie – Loving The Alien
2. David Bowie – Let's Dance (Trifactor Vs Deeper Substance Remix)
3. David Guetta vs. Bowie – Just For One Day (Heroes) (Extended Version)
4. The Scumfrog vs. David Bowie – This Is Not America
5. Solaris vs. Bowie – Shout (Original Mix)
6. David Bowie – China Girl (Riff & Vox Club Mix)
7. David Bowie – Magic Dance (Danny S Magic Party Remix)
8. David Bowie – Let's Dance (Club Bolly Extended Mix)
9. David Bowie – Let's Dance (Club Bolly Mix)
