Here is a rare early release from Peter 'Sleazy' Christopherson & John Balance. Not sure I can give Coil a proper synopsis other than they would be my definition of electronic/experimentalism music. They have a bizarre & tragic history with a huge catalogue of music and intriguing artwork. Here they take on Soft Cell’s infamous song in a most unique way. An acquired taste and taken in doses, is very impressive.

DeleteGreat second single from Coil, and it was not so rare in the UK back in 1985 (released on Force & Form). An excellent three pack to have. My favourite is 'Panic'. Used to get played down at Sex 2. Good times.

DeleteCoil is so brilliant, IMHO far more musically interesting than TG. Their "Musik To Play In The Dark" albums are my favourites, but then I'm a vintage Tangerine Dream fan, too. ;0)

F*ck yea, the video for Tainted Love is one of the poignant ever made. And it really transformed the song, as much as they did musically. They truly illustrated the creative potential that artists can achieve with a cover song. And it hammered home an incredibly vital message; with a finger to the Thatcher - Regan/Bush regimes.
